With less than half a year left in 2019, Citrus College’s 2011-2020 Educational and Facilities Master Plan (EFMP) has met its lifeline. As the District plans for the future, a new 10-year EFMP has been awarded to Westberg White Architecture (WWA) with a start date of 2021. This EFMP will help the District align its focus with the President’s plan to meet the needs of new students attending college for the first time, returning students seeking new academic opportunities and community members looking for professional advancements or career changes.

WWA’s development of the new EFMP began as a way to meet the needs of the District’s goals by offering solutions and upgrades for dynamic learning environments, innovative academic programs and comprehensive support services to Citrus College’s world-class cultural offerings, athletic teams and facilities. The EFMP will specifically address the needs and academic goals for college transfers, technical training, lifelong learning and job placement opportunities within the surrounding community of Citrus College.

As a valuable asset to the development of the new EFMP, WWA’s Facilities and College Specialist, Albert Miranda, has had over 42 years of experience with the North Orange County Community College District while serving as the Director of Facilities at Cypress College. Miranda has had the opportunity to help develop two Education and Facilities Master Plans during his time at the college and excels in speaking on behalf of the clients. He is assisting the WWA Master Planning Team to better understand how to communicate with the college system in order to develop a successful EFMP for Citrus College.

As of today, WWA has completed and facilitated the necessary interviews, study sessions, environmental scans and assessments of Citrus College’s current facilities and programs, and are in the process of compiling the information and seamlessly tying it together. With this information, WWA is building an EFMP to help accommodate and face the challenges and updates needed for Citrus College to meet its academic programs for the next 10 years.
