In response to the evolving needs at the Liberal Arts Campus, the Long Beach Community College District initiated a transformative project to develop new Kinesiology Labs and an Aquatic Center, accompanied by Facility Support Spaces, New Fields, and Courts, along with a Multipurpose Educational/Event Room. WestbergWhite was engaged to assess the existing facilities and devise Master Planning concepts for optimal land utilization, culminating in the development of a comprehensive single-phase plan. The scope of work included demolition, reconfiguration, and the creation of new growth facilities to align with competitive standards for outdoor athletic venues. The addition of a modern Aquatic Center addressed the need for upgraded instructional programs and intercollegiate athletics, replacing the undersized existing facility and ensuring long-term viability for the department's programs. In collaboration with the District, WestbergWhite successfully delivered a state-of-the-art complex that exemplifies current programmatic needs but also sets the stage for future excellence in Kinesiology education and athletics.
