District Aquatic Center for 4 District High Schools
Torrance Unified School District
Torrance Unified School District
Torrance Unified School District embarked on a transformative journey with WestbergWhite Architecture to create a modern, state-of-the-art aquatic venue that would meet the needs of the community and the schools it serves. This was a unique project for both the District and the Community of Torrance as they wanted this Aquatic Venue to support the design vernacular of Irving Gill’s architectural aesthetic which is found throughout historic structures in the South Bay region. Collaborative workshops and community engagement sessions informed the design process, ensuring that the new facility not only met the district's functional requirements but also aligned with the community's aesthetic preferences. The resulting Torrance Aquatic Center is a testament to innovation and collaboration, providing a secure and inclusive space for aquatic activities. Through meticulous planning and execution, WestbergWhite and the district successfully delivered a facility that meets the needs of current and future generations of students and community members alike.
