Project Summary
This 45,000 s.f. expansion project for an existing elementary school, is part of the El Monte City School District’s facility-consolidation master plan, turning the school into a K-8th-grade campus. The program includes demolition of several outdated portable classrooms, home economics and industrial arts buildings. These structures were replaced with a newly designed two-story 23-classroom building. The project also includes expansion of an existing multipurpose room, kitchen and renovation of the administration offices. To provide adequate space for this renovation, the existing library was relocated to a new library/media center building. Additional site improvements including lunch shelters and play-yard modifications complete this campus expansion project.
